The main airports flying Durban to Johannesburg are OR Tambo (Johannesburg International airport) to Durban International (formerly known as Louis Botha). However if you fly with Kulula then you can also leave from Lanseria airport. Durban is currently having a new Airport built, called La Mercy, costing ACSA roughly R7 billion. At the moment no one knows what will happen to the old airport once the new one comes into operation. Comair have put forward an interest in buying it, however ACSA have turned this down. They stated that they do not want any competition for the new airport, which is quite far outside of Durban.
